Associations demo not updating the relation

I tried to do the following:
I created a new pet called Foopet, that belonged to John. The pet got created just fine, but I think also the People table should’ve been updated. Now I had to click “Pets” under John to refresh the pet list.
This shouldn’t be impossible to fix.
